work center
A work center is a place where an operation is carried out within a production plant. A work center can represent a machine or a group of machines as well as a person or a group of people. Work Centers are used to perform activity in task list or execution of work orders. A work centre is linked to one cost centre. A work centre is created for a plant and is identified by a key.
The Work center should serve the following purposes:
· To determine which processing unit is to be used in an operation
· To calculate costs, capacities and dates for an operation.
Apart from the details of capacity, the standard value key defined in the work centres will identify the parameters to be captured at the time of production confirmation in the production order.
Standard values are planned values for the execution of an operation and will be
maintained in the operation. We can have a maximum of 6 standard values for the work centre. Machine hours and Labour hours will be used as standard values in Al Nukaly. (Subject to approval from AL Nukaly)
Activity types are used to describe the various forms of activity that are performed at a cost center. Activity types are valuated for each cost center and period with a charge rate that can consist of a fixed portion and a variable (work-related) portion. These activity types determine the charge rate with which internal standard values are to be coasted viz., machine hours; setup time and labor hours are defined in the controlling module. .
